Powys, John Cowper.   Wood and stone, a romance.   New York, G. Arnold 
Shaw, 1915.Dark blue cloth stamped in gilt. Cloth lightly rubbed and 
marked, gilt on backstrip faded, front and back endpapers show holes from 
previously pinned items. Acid offset from newsprint previously laid between 
the endpaper and the half-title, browning to the front and back endpapers, 
1" hole along the back hinge. Bold inscription on the front endpaper. Laid 
in are various items: photographic postcard announcing Powys' 1920-21 
lecture tour, 2 photo clippings, newspaper clipping describing one of 
Powys' "medium-miracle", a book review from Harper's Monthly. T.l.s. from 
the publisher recommending Llewellyn Powys as a lecturer. One of 3000 
copies. Powys' first novel. Thomas A6 in first state of the binding.  $75.00
