First edition. Sm. 8vo. (4),xxiv,114pp. Text printed in sections of gold, blue, 
brown and red. Title-page, printed in all 4 colors, with an engraved vignette 
printed in black. Cont. speckled calf, nicely rebacked, gilt decorated spine.

An 18th century French satire on society and manners which, as the author 
notes in his preface, should not be limited to somber black ink. Brunet III, 
1122-23. There is another edition with 110 pages.
