SHAW,  George  Bernard. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS) on  a  postcard.
Italy:  15  August  1927. On the blank verso of a  postcard  from  the
Regina  Palace  Hotel postmarked Stressa Borromeo Novara, Italy on  15
August  1927.  Addressed  to the Irish author, actor,  and  playwright
Conal  O'Riordan  who wrote under the pseudonym of F.  Norris  Connell
and  who  served  a  short tenure as director of  the  Abbey  Theatre,
following  the death of John Millington Synge. In full: "I do not know
what  supporting a dervish(?) means. Provided it does not mean  eating
it,  or, worse still, watching other people eat it, I am quite willing
to  countenance  H.  W.  N.  in  any way  that  may  be  agreeable  or
serviceable  to  him.  G. Bernard Shaw." With a half-tone photographic
reproduction of Shaw.  Near Fine                $650.00
