Good, Price Clipped dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
      History of the "river of Washington" and the people who have lived and 
worked along its banks since the days of the Indians. Fascinating and well 
written, with anecdotes of George Washington, competition between the 
Potomac and the Erie Canal, John Brown and Harper' s Ferry, the flight of 
John Wilkes Booth after the Lincoln assassination, and much more. Generally 
considered one of the best in the RoA series. Striking scratch-board 
illustrations by Mitchell Jamieson. Good bibliographical section, full 
index. FITZGERALD #P2. This copy one of an unspecified number (though 
reportedly 1,000) in the Special Limited National Capital Sesquicentennial 
Edition, SIGNED by Gutheim on limitation page. Bound in gray cloth over 
boards with spine lettered and ruled in gilt and maroon, upper board 
blind-stamped with series logo, illustrated endpapers, plum topstain. No 
prior ownership marks. Tiny bumps to top fore corners of boards. Jacket has 
a minor extremity rubs and wear along with 3 short closed edge tears.
