STAFFORD, William. 4 TYPED LETTERS SIGNED. Lake Oswego, OR: Four
Typed Letters to the same correspondent, two SIGNED in full and two
SIGNED as Bill. The first letter is from 1984 and the last from 1990.
From the first letter, which is also the most substantial: "your
letter and enclosed poems have encouraged me to formulate something
that has been hovering: the way that interests me in writing is the
way of bringing what surrounds us into the temporary and shifting
relation that language enables. I don't have hope of formulating the
complex idea that you help me glimpse." Stafford refers to a group of
poems in ONTARIO REVIEW, a copy of which accompanies these letters.
Fine group. Some wrinkling but Very Good; magazine with more wear,
Good. $350.00
