Ten tales of mystery and horror, with an Afterword, in which the author 
says that "eight of the stories in this book I did not compose. I 
dreamed them, and in each the dream or nightmare needed little or no 
modification to make a story of it." The boards show slight rubbing to 
the tips and spine ends, with a touch of soiling to the cloth. It 
appears a former owner's signature has been erased from the front free 
endpaper, as the paper has been abraded and shows the indentation of a 
name. Otherwise, free of former owner's markings, clean and tight: in 
good plus, to very good, condition. The original - and very scarce - 
dust jacket shows the original price on the spine. It is creased, with 
several small open tears to the bottom of the spine and the the front 
fold. There is also some lesser chipping to the top of the spine, the 
folds, and along the edges. Just a touch of general soiling; else in 
good minus condition.
