stamped. Spine extremities a bit rubbed. Old faded water stain along the bottom 
margin. This copy inscribed on an added blank before the half-title, “Trust in 
the Lord and do good. Harriet Beecher Stowe, Feb. 22 1888.”     $1,000.00

The novel, THE PEARL OF ORR’S ISLAND is forgotten today, but it was quite 
popular upon publication, with 4 editions in 1862, the year of publication, and 
25 years later in a "Twenty-eighth edition"!
