Greetings Booklovers,
We are pleased to offer:
~
(No. 9090 ) Myers, Earl M. U.S.S. FARRAGUT (DD 348): HISTORY AND ADVENTURES
OF THE SHIPS CREW (COMPLETE IN 3 VOLUMES).
[St. Louis]: (s.n.), [1998?-2004]. comb bindings, Quarto, 500+ pages, black
& white photographs, maps. Good.
History of the destroyer USS Farragut in World War II along with a
wealth of personal recollections and anecdotes from the author and other
crewmembers. The Farragut was at Pear Harbor during the Japanese attack in
1941 and managed to get under way and keep up a steady fire. All three
volumes INSCRIBED by Myers. This history was clearly produced using a
photocopier in what must have been a very small quantity, and the quality of
reproduction in the photographs is not great. Each volume is comb-bound in
ivory-colored card covers printed with the title and an additional clear
acetate front cover. The covers show various light soil and extremity wear.
Prior owner, who also served aboard the Farragut, has made an occasional
informed notation or highlight in the text. Scarce. $125.00
