      Fascinating firsthand account of this important cavalry battle in the 
American Civil War. Both authors were Prussian military officers attached to 
Jeb Stuart's Confederate cavalry division and involved in the battle. They 
were also careful observers. Douglas Southall Freeman called this the "best 
account of the greatest cavalry battle ever fought in the Western world." 
Heretofore available only in the original German edition, this first edition 
in English was limited to 1,000 copies. Bound in printed brown paper covers. 
Minor edge rubs. Prior owner inscriptions at top of preliminary blank and
