Liberal reformist illustrated political weekly, with both California
(S.F. and L.A. political matters) and national political news,
essays, etc. formed by the merger of the California Weekly and
Pacific Outlook. Favored Theodore Roosevelt and the Progressive Party
in 1912 election. Includes Roosevelt's speech accepting the 1912
nomination (w/ a photo), an essay on socialism, the liquor traffic,
railroad & utilities reform, many articles on women's political
views, photos of California women on way to Chicago convention,
editorial on Woodrow Wilson's nomination, the national Municipal
League, proposed new City Hall in San Francisco, editorial on
Roosevelt's political views, front pg. lead article, "The Trusts and
Roosevelt", a close-up photo of Roosevelt & his strength in
California, full pg. photo of governing body of Progressive Party,
front pg. photo of Roosevelt with California governor Hiram Johnson,

clothes, attorneys. Scarce. OCLC shows only 11 libraries with
holdings of this periodical. Front joint cracked but board holding,
corners a bit worn, internally quite clean and crisp, overall a good+
