Gohier, J[ean] [B[aptiste].

An interesting work on the effects of mildewed straw on horses and other
animals. This is important because feeding or exposing them to this straw
(or hay) makes them allergic, an expensive and debilitating problem which
is still with us today. Gohier [1776-1819] was a veterinary surgeon with
the French cavalry and later a professor at the Veterinary School in Lyon.
His other publications included "Observations et experiences faites a

Period orange wrappers. 5.5"x8.25", 66 pages, sewn, untrimmed; some soil,
covers with some wear, etc. A nice copy in its original state.
Presentation inscription to "A.M. Lacouille, fils" from the author on the
front pastedown. $300.00
