Many Other Memoirs, Letters, Wills and Epitaphs... Adorned with Cuts. London: 
No pub. 1732-1735. First edition. Tall folio. 2 vols. in 1. In numerous parts, 
each paginated separately (approx. 460pp.). Illustrated with 9 copper 
engraved plates (1 folding) and an engraved frontispiece portrait in Vol. II. This 
copy with an added very fine mezzotint portrait (dated 1735) of Peck in Vol. I. 
Title pages printed in red & black with copper engraved vignettes. Cont. calf, 
a bit worn, nicely rebacked, brown morocco spine label. Very rare.

The great English scholar Joseph Ritson’s (1752-1803) copy, with his 
autograph signature and his brief notes relating to the cost and binding of this 
volume. Only 250 copies were printed of this first edition. It was reprinted as a 
one volume 4to. in 1799. It is a compendium of documents relating to English 
history from 1558 to 1660. Peck (1692-1743) also contributed 2 essays, one on 
ancient divisions of the day and night, the other a description of Burghley 
House.
