Includes errata: "The following changes have taken place in the
Register, since the first impressions were stricken off by the
printer," p. [32].
The copy of Lewis R[ichard] Morris (1760 -1825) of Springfield,
United States Representative from Vermont, a brigadier general in the
State militia and major general of the First Division from 1795 to
1817, who helped bridge the Connecticut River and lock it at Bellows
Falls. A gift from his friend Mark Richards. Later stamp of Mrs. E.
E. Atwater. Heavily annotated with then current updates including
those retired or deceased, the new ships to which officers were
assigned, etc. Includes name, rank, date of Commission, and where
stationed, for the entire Navy and Marine Corps, pay scales,
storekeepers, constructors, a list of vessels (7 battleships, 8
frigates including 1 powered by steam, 2 corvettes, 5 sloops, 2
brigs, 5 schooners, and 6 gunboats). OCLC shows one at the Univ.
Rochester; also copies at the Preble Collection at the Navy Dept.
Lib. and the AAS, all with errata. A well annotated copy, rebound
with blank wrappers and cloth spine, cloth now lacking, mathematical
notations on wrappers, with earliest containing a list of the number
of members in each of the ranks. Period signatures and notations on
wrappers which are soiled and darkened, institutional blind stamp and
faint ink stamp on title page, gift inscription on first blank,
further gift stamps on first blank and rear wrapper, occasional
marginal chips and wear, still about good. [31457] $300.00

be billed. Trade allowance. Postage for Domestic orders is $4.00 for
the first book and $1.50 for each additional volume. Books are
normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is
