printers, 1825.  First edition.   Old calf, approx. 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 
inches, edges rubbed but quite sound. 600 pages.  Corner of one leaf 
defective, with loss of 4 or 5 words. (Dragons, sea 
serpents,  scorpions, apparitions, ancient giants, salamanders, 
tarantulas,  the Deist confuted, prisoner among the Indians, 
prophecy, Bartram's travels, the Inquisition, origin of the 
aborigines, water-finding, account of a Negro sale, Mexican idol 
festivals, &c, &c. This curious omnium gatherum is OFTEN MENTIONED AS 
A SOURCE OF THE BOOK OF MORMON. Priest, although uneducated and a 
harness-maker by trade, published a number of popular works on the 
Millennium, on slavery, on the American Revolution, &c, and an 
hilucinatory epic, "The Crimsoned Hills of
