Scribner's  Sons  1910.  Early  Edition.   First  published  in  1910;
illustrated  with plates. This copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author
on  the  front free endpaper: "Inscribed for/Louis J.  Halle/with  the
best  wishes  of/Theodore Roosevelt." Large bookplate of Louis J.  and
Rita  S.  Halle on the front pastedown with a smaller version  of  the
same  bookplate tipped to the verso of the front free endpaper.  Halle
is  possibly the Louis J. Halle who authored BIRDS AGAINST MEN,  1938,
winner  of  the  John Burroughs Medal in 1941. Roosevelt had  a  great
interest  in birds. Slight fraying to top corners of spine. Very  Good
