Lutherthumb, und desselben Rumsuchtigen Vorfechters und Goliaths D. 
Matthiae Hoe, Handtbuch unnd Bedencken an die Oesterreichische Ständt, 
&c. Coln [Koln]: Nicolai Steinij, 1619. Presumed first edition. Full 
period pigskin elaborately decorated in blind, 8vo (21 x 17cm); [56], 
865 pp., all page edges stained black, title-page printed in red and 
black.

Covers browned and soiled, rear turn-ins protruding a bit, brass 
remnants of clasp binding on front and rear covers; 17th and 18th 
century owners' signatures on title-page, some loss to the lower 
fore-corners of title-page and first 4 leaves of the dedication, 
shelf-wear/rubbing to the edges of text block, pages somewhat tanned 
with age, but not excessively so, and otherwise without staining or 
foxing to speak of. Binding is firm and text appears to be complete 
(with several pages misnumbered as per RLG catalogue collation).

An extremely uncommon title: we find none available online and OCLC 
WorldCat shows only one copy in any library worldwide (at Harvard's 
Divinity School).
