Thoreau, Henry David. A Yankee in Canada with Anti-Slavery and Reform Papers. Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1866. First Edition. Small Octavo. [4], 286, [blank leaf] pages. Fly-leaves, orignial blind stamped cloth. BAL #20117. Binding "A" purple HC with chocolate-coated end papers. A wreath blind stamped in center of both covers. Gilt spine lettering, smaller letters slightly faded, but still bright and readable. Corners good, text with no foxing and no markings. Spine cap is only lightly frayed with a very small piece missing in the top center. Copy is tight. Owner's name in pencil. First appearance of "Civil Disobedience" with this title. Overall a rather Good+, first edition printing of an important and scarce title.
