1.  ANONYMOUS.  I'LL TELL YOU A STORY (PANARAMA). London: Raphael 
Tuck & Sons, Ltd, ca. 1920. Illustrated by black and white vignettes 
and  a brightly colored 2 page pop-up of children at the beach, 
including two black children who are entertaining the rest with their 
banjos. Near fine. Several stories, including one about "Peter 
Pyecroft", a little black boy who rescues a Civil-War veteran's cane 
and is given a prize. The boy and his family are dressed in rags and 
have African-American dialects. Attractive  scarce book, if a bit 
weird. A little scattered foxing. The panorama is in fine condition.

6.  GREENAWAY, KATE.  UNDER THE WINDOW ; PICTURES & RHYMES FOR 
CHILDREN. New York and London: Frederick Warne & Co., Ltd., n.d.. 
Illustrated by Kate Greenaway and engraved and printed by Edmund 
Evans. Early Warne edition. Slim 8vo. [56 pgs] Fine/Near fine. This 
is a delightfully illustrated book of verse.  It is profusely 
illustrated throughout the 56 pages of 44 poems and rhymes, with 
color vignettes.  The spine is cloth with black lettering and design. 
Has the scarce dust jacket with a couple of tiny chips to edges and a 
few wrinkles. Never used by children. It was bought by a collector of 
Wedgwood, including the Wedgwood designs by Greenaway. Laid in is a 
letter, dated 1946 about this subject from T. Lyth of Josiah Wedgwood 
& Sons Ltd. to this collector and also laid-in is the receipt for the 
purchase of this book from a Boston antiquarian bookseller, dated

Boston: D. Appleton & Co, 1881. Illustrated by Church and Moser. 
Mixed issue of first edition. Bright green with gilt illustration and 
lettering and butterfly end papers. Good. No mention of present title 
in ads at rear but "presumptuous" instead of "presumptive" on pg. 9. 
Half of decorated end paper at front is missing. Old damp stain 
(lighter than cloth) to top corner of front board and also on rear 
board. Laid-in is the original handwritten quote from E. M. Anderson, 
then at Lauriat Co., dated 1956, Boston for this book and another

chromolithographs, and two tone illustrations by Grace C. Floyd. 
Pictorial wrapper. Paper covered cloth pages (untearable). 8vo. [10 
pgs] Very good. Missing one leaf (Sailor Cat). Edge wear all around,

Green cloth with pictorial onlay to upper board. Large 8vo. Charming 
book about the adventures of cats learning to be boy scouts. A few 
spots of soiling to pages, slightly bowed. Louis Wain was devoted to 
cats and they were all he wanted to draw. Rare juvenile.<BR> <A
