1.  AN OXONIAN (HOLE, S. REYNOLDS).  LITTLE TOUR IN IRELAND, A. 
London: Bradbury & Evans, 1859. Illustrated by Jon Leech with a 
fold-out hand-colored plate showing a crowd of colorfully dressed 
Irish peasants. This plate is backed by linen and is in fine 
condition s are the black and white plates that follow. First 
edition. 3/4 dark green crushed morocco over linen-covered boards 
with raised bands and gilt rules and florets in the compartments, top 
edge gilt. Original cloth boards and spine bound-in at rear. Fine. 
The author describes his journey through  Dublin, Galway, Connemara, 
Athlone, Limerick, Killarney, Glengariff, Cork etc. Previous owner's 
signature "Rene Henderson, Dublin 1923" and bookplate of Henry S. 
Guinness, member of the first Irish Free State Senate in 1922. <BR>

engravings by Bartlett. First edition. 3/4 dark green crushed morocco 
over marbled paper-covered boards with raised bands and gilt rules, 
all edges marbled. Near fine. Twentieth century binding. 2 " diameter 
damp stain to top of 2 pages (frontis and title). Another smaller 
damp stain to one margin. Extra clean and almost totally free of 
foxing. 2 volumes bound together. Two engraved title pages. A

Wrightson, Lee and others on vellum paper. Celtic edition. # 76 of 
1000 copies printed. 4 volumes. Green crushed levant with gilt 
designs in the spine compartments, raised bands, light green 
linen-covered boards. Spines are evenly sunned to a rich brown, t. e. 
g. Fine. Volumes are in such good condition as to appear unopened. 
Former owner's contemporary bookplate at pastedown of each volume.

London: How and Parsons, 1841, 42, 43. Illustrated by woodcut titles 
and 67 maps and steel engravings, some by Bartlett. First edition. 3 
volumes. Full original morocco gilt with gilt rules, lettering and 
designs to spines, with red leather labels on spines. Small 4to. 
Scattered foxing, detached  but present front boards on Vol. I and II 
and weak front hinge on Vol. III, otherwise very good.  $450.00

6.  MOORE, THOMAS.  MOORE'S IRISH MELODIES. London: Longman, Brown, 
Green, Longmans, N.D. (ca. 1840). Illustrated by hundreds of 
engravings by Maclise and decorated borders to pages in a voluptuous 
Victorian manner. Green decorated morocco with raised bands and 
shamrock designs in the compartments in gilt. Heavily decorated 
boards with more shamrocks in gilt. Gilt-decorated inner dentelles. 
Square 4to. [index, vi,  273 pgs] Very good. From the library of 
Count Bobrinskoi, grandson of Catherine the Great of Russia. A bit of 
rubbing to boards and a tiny amount of foxing to a few margins. 
Generally a very good copy of a well-designed book.  $325.00 {73106}

Longman, Orme, Brown, Green, and Longmans, 1838. Illustrated by 19 
engravings from drawings by D. M'Clise and T. Creswick. Half polished 
calf with marbled boards and end papers.  Gilt rules and lettering on 
black morocco labels . 8vo. [264 pgs] Very good. Scattered foxing to 
some plates but none to text pages, rubbing to paper covering boards, 
otherwise in fine, sound condition. Interesting descriptions of the 
gentry and the peasantry from the point of view of an English 
travelling gentleman. Much about castles and scenery too.  $250.00

(1884). Illustrated by 17 steel engravings by Bartlett and others and 
colored maps- altogether 616 engravings, most in the text. Lovely 
pictorial cloth gilt, a.e.g. 4to. [649 pgs] Near fine. Huge folding

9.  WIGHT, THOMAS AND RUTTY, JOHN.  HISTORY OF THE RISE AND PROGRESS 
OF THE PEOPLE CALLED QUAKERS IN IRELAND FROM THE YEAR 1653 TO 
1700......TO WHICH IS ADDED, A CONTINUATION OF THE SAME HISTORY TO 
THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 1751....AND A TREATISE OF THE CHRISTIAN 
DISCIPLINE EXERCISED AMONG THE SAID PEOPLE, A. Dublin: I. Jackson, 
1751. First as such edition. Very early cloth binding (ca. 1830); 
brown cloth with black & gilt leather title label. 7.75" x 6". [484/8 
pgs] Near fine. Previous owner's signature at ffep, Lucy Tyson 
Fitzhugh.  Handwritten history of family "Brooke & Tyson", at free 
end papers, with information of owner (signature at ffep) at rear end 
paper, dated 1907.  Original owner signature, James Brookse  at title 
page, with notation at bottom of page, James Brooke, died in 1767 
aged 37 years. Last index leaf repaired, with some loss to margins 
Some minor shelf wear to extremities, one 2" tear to cloth at front 
hinge.  Contents are tight and sound. Important source for Quaker
