BIRDS.
Boston: De Wolfe, Fiske & Co., 1890. First printing, Original cloth, Octavo, 
iv, 159 pages, hand-colored plates. Very Good.
      The culmination of 30 years' research, this labor of love gives 
physical descriptions and brief notes on the eggs of nearly 800 North 
American birds. There are 10 plates which were colored by hand by Mrs. 
Maynard. Bound in dark brown cloth over boards with spine and upper board 
titled in gilt with black ornamented top and bottom borders. There is some 
very light scattered foxing inside, a bit of grime on endpapers. Shallow 
bumps to edges of cloth at heel of spine, slight rubs at fore corner tips. 
Binding remains very sound, no hinge cracks.    $100.00
