Manning, W. E. REMINISCENCES OF SOUTH-EAST AFRICA. Np: Nd (circa  
1915). Square octavo. Original gray printed stiff wrappers. 30pp. Two  
black and white photographs. Very good. Wear at spine from extraction  
from a bound volume of pamphlets. Manning was the British Vice-Consul  
for Mozambique and the Portugese possessions on the East coast of  
Africa. An interesting narrative discussing Slavers and slave  
caravans, the Arabs, the wildlife, native tribes, Vice-Consul Elton  
and the Portugese.  These events occurred in the 1870’s but this  
piece was printed some 30 years later. It was among a bound volume of  
pamphlets, all African related and all dating from 1910-1915. An  
apparently unrecorded piece, OCLC, Harvard, the Library of Congress  
and Copac do not list any copies. $150.00
