JEFFERS,  Robinson.  THE  WOMEN AT POINT SUR.  New  York:  Boni &
Liveright  1927.  First  Edition. This long narrative poem is  one  of
Jeffers's  best  works. This copy is SIGNED by the poet on  the  front
free  endpaper  on 1 December 1927 at Tor House, Carmel, and  contains
the  following MANUSCRIPT lines from the poem in the poet's hand: "'He
is  darker to himself than to me,/He is neither a child nor a man,  he
has  no understanding./He is terrible,' he said with tranquil eyes./He
intended  the  multiform  God but it was Barclay on  the  hilltop---."
Light  chipping  to  tips of spine of dustwrapper  which  is  slightly
darkened. About Fine in Very Good or better dustwrapper.      $1500.00
