EDITION OF HORACE WALPOLE'S  CORRESPONDENCE. VOLUMES 1-39 [39 VOLUMES 
IN 38]. New Haven / London: Yale University Press; Oxford University 
Press, 1937-1974. Illus. Sm. 4to.  Blue cloth with gilt lettering. 
First editions. Contains all the major correspondence and named 
volumes. The next four volumes (40-43) were Miscellaneous 
Correspondence and Corrections and the last five (44-48), the Index. 
Hard to find in long runs. Top edges foxed on about half the volumes, 
else near fine to fine, all volumes apparently unread, still very 
tight and crisp, faint soiling on spine of three volumes, a few 
removed from original shrink wrap, volumes 25-27 and 35-39 in 
jackets, some soiling to the light gray paper on a few as usual, but 
mainly fine or near fine.    [30173] $1850.00
