plates (including engraved port. frontis and 4 folding). 4to. (30
cm). Later cloth over marbled paper covered boards, typed paper title
(hardback). Freitag 13649. First edition. The centenary biography of
Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723), architect, mathematician, and
astronomer. Covers his science as well as his architecture and public
works. Illustrations engraved by Edward Scriven and Wilson Lowry,
after James Elmes. A very good copy, boards rubbed, mainly at the
extremities, marbled edges a bit faded, very faint dampstain to the
first few leaves, mainly the prefatory matter, offsetting opposite
plates, otherwise clean and crisp, binding solid. [30188] $300.00

Blue cloth, paper spine label, fore edge and lower edge deckled
(hardback). First edition thus. No. 97 of an edition of 250 copies.
First published in 1750. A very good copy, boards faintly soiled,
spine label chipped not affecting text or image, leaves fine and

normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is
