From our latest Internet Catalogue which contains a truly amazing array
of TWENTIETH CENTURY LITERARY MANUSCRIPTS, LETTERS, AND PHOTOGRAPHS, a
total of 90 items, many quite scarce and remarkable as well as revealing
of the creative process and personal lives of the subjects. It includes
a number of archives, some rather substantial, including Sherwood
Anderson, W. H. Auden, Robert Lowell, Norman Mailer, John Masefield,

1. BENET, William Rose [Dorothy PARKER]. AUTOGRAPH NOTE SIGNED (ANS).
The front free endpaper from an unidentified book (4-3/4" x 7-3/4")
with an 1851 owner name at the top and on the bottom half a SIGNED
INSCRIPTION from one poet to another: "--and then, in a new century,
to/Dorothy Parker from William/Rose Benet, this winter Aconite/or New
Year's gift/Vinum tuum bibe cum gaudio/January 1927." William Rose
Benet was the brother of the poet and novelist Stephen Vincent Benet
and the husband of the American poet Elinor Wylie. He founded the The
SATURDAY REVIEW OF LITERATURE in 1924 and was an editor and columnist
for the magazine until his death. He received the 1942 Pulitzer Prize
for his volume of poems THE DUST WHICH IS GOD. Very Good $150.00
