half leather with marbled boards, spines with light wear.  With the 
bookplates of George Alfred Townsend (Eastern Shore author) showing 
the arch that he erected (which still stands) in Western Maryland in 
memory of the war
correspondents of the Civil War.  Complete with 2 maps & 12 striking 
richly colored plates.  Two plates have some marginal wear.  Some
