Fowle, and J. Edwards. 1747. First American edition. (2),vi,344pp. A very nice 
copy in cont. calf, hinges neatly repaired, later red calf spine labels. 
Inscribed on the front free endpaper, two years after the author’s death, by one of 
his sons, dated 1749. Another ownership inscription is dated 1792. Occasional 
foxing.     $1,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
An important study by this New England minister. It was first printed in 
England in 1707, and helped to establish his reputation as one of the most 
prominent clergymen in the Colonies. Evans 5921; Sabin 14509.
