TARKINGTON, BOOTH. GENTLE JULIA. Garden City: Doubleday, Doran &
Co., 1933 (1922). Original cloth, approx. 7 3/4 X 5 inches, a very
good copy. SIGNED inscription by Tarkington, "Inscribed, at Miss
Betty Trotter's request, for Walker Bush, and 'more power to him,'
says one who at intervals, in Maine, watches him grow. Booth
Tarkington, Kennebunkport, August 29, 1934." (Miss Trotter was
Tarkington's secretary. Tarkington maintained a summer home in
Kennebunkport for many years, as did - and still do - the Bushes.
Young George was then 10 years old.) A remarkable
memento. $300.00 (Trade Discount Available)
