The excessively rare first continental edition of Bacon’s “De Augmentis 
Scientiarum.” It is the second edition overall, after the London edition printed 
in 1623. This text is the greatly expanded and latinized version of his famous “
Advancement and Proficiency of Learning,” Gibson #130.
