1891-1979)[: American businessman and collector of rare books and art. 
Rosendale started out as a shipping clerk for Sears & Roebuck, and became a 
part owner and Chairman (1923-32); in 1943 he devoted himself to collecting 
rare books and art fulltime, pledging most of his collection to Library of 
Congress and the National Gallery of Art. Bound in original white colored 
buckram, ornate purple and gilt stamped "OR" to front, two purple and gilt 
panels to spine. Mild rubbing to panels. Binders and binding chapter to 
rear. Very clean, tightly bound. 517 pp, 4 to. $30.00

particularly of Man, and fitted to the meanest Capacity, WE. Taylor at the 
Ship, and J. Baker, London, 1713: Translated from the French. Dedication, To 
His Grace John, Lord Archbishop of York; Lord Primate of England; And Lord 
Almoner to Her Majesty, by A. Boyer. Followed by The French Editor's 
Advertisement. Errata to lower Advertisement page:  80. Line 15, instead of 
Bodies or. Beings. p. 85. I. 11. the Jointing or. their Jointing." 
Headpiece to the first page of the 'Treatise'. Francis Feeling (1651 - 
1715), Period, France; French Roman Catholic theologian, poet and author of 
many works reflecting both his political and religious ideals. Appointed 
Archbishop of Cambria in 1695. He was most noted for his scandalous attack 
on the French Monarchy with his writing, "The Adventures of Telepaths". 
Three quarter calf, peacock marbled boards and end papers, black leather 
title panel to spine, with bright gilt title; spine 5 ridges, with gilt 
decorations. Original boards and back strip professionally restored to book, 
along with reinforced hinges. Tile page has few faded letters(?) at upper 
edge, else through "French Advertisement" clean and bright. Starting at 
Feeling's 'treatise' mild toning to moderate toning, worm hole to marginal 
edge of page 62. All text is dark with a good size font and very readable.
