Next week we will be posting on our website a collection of fine
mountaineering titles including a number of nineteenth and early
twentieth century titles. The following two items are from that list
and are posted today in honor of the death yesterday of one of the
greatest explorers of modern times.

gilt ornamentation and heraldic design on the front and rear covers
with the motto "Nothing Venture Nothing Win." The 50th Anniversary
Edition of Hillary's account of his and Tensing Norgay's ascent to
the "roof of the world," the summit of Mount Everest. SIGNED by the
author on the limitation page. New, in shrinkwrap. $250.00
2. HILLARY, Edmund. NOTHING VENTURE, NOTHING WIN. New York: Coward,
McCann & Geoghegan (1975). First American. Illustrated with drawings
and color and black-and-white photographs. The most complete
autobiography of the first man to stand on top of Mount Everest and
the leader of the first vehicle party overland to the South Pole.
SIGNED by the author on the title page. Fine in a Very Good or better
dustwrapper. $350.00
