Sixteenmo, 71 pages. Good.
      Scarce book by the noted 19th century spirit medium Mary T. Longley in 
which she channels a female spirit called "Astrea" who is the Guardian Soul 
Mate of an anonymous man identified here only as "Astrala." Mrs. Longley 
also channels messages from John Pierpont. An odd little book for sure, 
which includes many scenes of Victorian era spiritualism. Includes a brief 
bibliography. Bound in light blue cloth over boards with upper board titled 
in gilt, both boards have blind-stamped border rules. Prior owner name on 
front and rear pastedowns, binding shows minor extremity rubs, possibly 
lacking preliminary blank leaf.
