First edition. Robert Salmon (1775-1851), popular but eccentric
painter of marine subjects, is considered by some to be the father of
Luminism. Wilmeding's treatise is the definitive work. Includes
extensive appendices, catalogues, and a bibliography. Art dealer's
stamp to a few leaves else a near fine copy in a very good dust
jacket with a few small tears. Scarce in dust jacket. [20843]

be billed. Trade allowance. Postage for Domestic orders is $4.00 for

normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is
