We offer for Sale:

Samuels, Frederick S., ed. (Spreckels, John D., & Bros). NORTH
PACIFIC COAST PORTS. San Francisco: Press of Wm. C. Brown Co.,
(1894). [8], 77, Adv, [14], [1] pp. Illus. with 11 b/w plates & 3
folding maps. 8vo. Navy blue cloth stamped in gilt and blind, edges
beveled, decorated endpapers. Third issue.

The third issue of this scarce guide to the ports of the west coast
by the commercial shipping firm of J. D. Spreckels is over 40 percent
larger than the second issue of just five years earlier. There are
more than twice as many plates and many more ports, including San
Francisco, San Diego, Portland, Puget Sound and Vancouver, Honolulu,
the Port of Los Angeles, San Pedro, Tacoma, Redondo, Nanaimo, and
Burrant Inlet. Three folding maps: San Francisco Bay (colored),
Harbors of Washington State and Vancouver (partially colored), and
the San Diego Ports. Black and white full page photographs include: 6
of tug boats (Fearless, Relief, Active, Vigilant, Alert, Reliance), 2
of San Diego, and 1 each of Nanaimo and Honolulu. An additional plate
of the San Francisco wharf in the 14 page advertising section.

Very good or better, spine darkened with minor wear to the tips, some
maps colored, owner's name stamped on preliminaries, a tiny marginal
tear at inner fold on two maps. A very handsome copy. [31128] $850.00
