ornately gilt spine and large gilt ecclesiastical arms on both covers, very 
likely the arms of Armand de Bethune, the Bishop of Puy, to whom the book is 
dedicated. A.e.g. Marbled endpapers. Small chip at top of spine, otherwise an 
attractive binding.     $600.00 (trade discount allowed)
Very scarce. No record found in OCLC or in the BL French 17th c. catalog. Two 
copies are reported in The French Libraries database.
