Typis excusus Wolfgangi Hofmanni, Prostat in Officina Guilielmi Fitzeri. 1631. 
Folio. 2 parts in 1. (12),503,(1);(4),413,(1)pp. This is parts 1 & 2 (of 3) 
only, each part with its own title page and each collating separately. Main 
title-page (mounted on guard at inner margin with a small repair at bottom corner) 
with a large copper engraved vignette and portrait of Fludd on verso. 
Illustrated with numerous text engravings, 3 folding plates, and many woodcut tables &
 diagrams. Early 19th c. sheep, gilt tooled spine compartments, over marbled 
boards, rubbed at extremities. Some text browning and worming in blank bottom &
 fore- margins. About 20 leaves with worming in text block, affecting 
individual letters but not the readability.     $2,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
This is the second volume of Fludd’s (1547-1637) MEDICINA CATHOLICA (the 
first volume is dated 1629). Our second volume contains parts 1 & 2 only, and 
deals with earlier theories of diseases as caused by an imbalance of humors or 
evil spirits excited by the winds, etc. (Part 3, which is not present, is only 
94pp. and was Fludd’s attempt to understand the significance of the pulse.)
