A very important Syriac lexicon, published the same year as the Syriac Latin 
New Testament edited by Leusden and Schaaf. The technical volume of PRINTING & 
THE MIND OF MAN #309 calls this the second book printed from stereotype 
plates, although the first book “a small prayer book” has not survived. The 
LEXICON of 1708 would be the next book to be printed in this manner. The LEXICON 
with the 1708 imprint is very scarce, as most references describe the second 
issue of 1709 only.
