pp, typed on rectos only. Square octavo, bound in brown pebbled cloth 
over marbled boards, the spine panel with handwritten title label. 
"Dec. 31, 1897, 4.25 am Phila" in the author's hand at end of last 
leaf. There are a few marks in pen and small notes in the hand of the 
mystical philosopher Dr. Charles A. Muses, from whose library this 
volume was acquired. Front endpaper partially torn at hinge; binding 
lightly worn and some splits at spine edges repaired; spine glazed. A 
very good copy.

A detailed and scholarly analysis on the nature of prophets and 
prophecy, divided into 4 Books: The Nature of Prophecy, The Elements 
of Prophecy, The Theories of Prophecy and The Spiritual Gist of 
Prophecy. UNPUBLISHED.

Kenneth Sylvan Guthrie (American author, 1871-1940), Rector of All 
Saints Church, New York, Pythagorian and Neoplatonic Philosopher. 
Among his many works was a translation of the complete works of 
Plotinus (1918). He has been described as a "brilliant but eccentric 
scholar" by Manly Palmer Hall.
