first in color after an oil painting by Walter Sherwood. Both volumes are 
profusely illustrated: Vol. I with tipped-in photos and over 250 examples of Hunter’s 
work, most printed to match the colors and papers of the originals; Vol. II 
with approx. 50 samples of Hunter’s hand-made papers and watermarks, as well as 
a bibliography with tipped-in samples and leaves of his original works. The 
Deluxe Edition, limited to 50 numbered sets (total printing of 150), in the 
special binding and with additional samples. Both volumes signed on the limitation 
leaf by Dard Hunter II. Beautifully bound in full brown morocco, gilt, Dard 
Hunter devices stamped in gilt on front covers. Each volume housed in the 
publisher’s gray cloth clamshell box with brown morocco spine labels. Laid in is 
the prospectus for Vol. I (the only one issued). Fine, as new.     $9,500.00
