 No Author. SWATCH BOOK: Embroidered Fabrics from Josephs Brothers
Publisher: Josephs Brothers Embroidery Corp. West New York, New Jersey.
This is a hand-made swatch book utilizing professionally-made album covers,
black cloth with metal grommets and bound with red ties; 14 inches tall by 9
inches. It includes 58 blue paper leaves (116 pages) each stamped Josephs
Bros. Emb. Corp, 6030 Monroe Place, West New York, N.J. 07093. There is no
date but the zip code places it in the late 1960s-1970s. I can find no
reference to this company currently. Each leaf bears one or more large
fabric samples, each with a stamped code number. There are edgings, eyelets,
insert panels, laces, braid panels, fashion collars, items for both fashion
and house linens. Most are machine-embroidered, some with heavy use of
metallic thread. All recto pages are complete, some with more than one
example; in addition there are items on some verso pages. Most appear to be
fastened down with double-stick tape. All in very good condition.  $450
