"W.A.S. Benson. Arts and Crafts Luminary and Pioneer of Modern Design"

Edited by Ian Hamerton. Published in Woodbridge by the Antique Collector’s
Club in 2005.

“This is the first work devoted to the life and work of Arts & Crafts
designer and architect William Arthur Smith Benson (1854-1924). Though
best known for his daring and innovative work in the sphere of electric
lighting at its very inception, Benson also turned his hand to interior
design, metalware, and architecture. A great friend of both William Morris
and Edward Burne-Jones, Benson was a leading figure in the Arts & Crafts
Movement, eventually taking over the helm of Morris & Co. Decorators Ltd.
following William Morris’ death. This extensively researched book
discusses his career in architecture, furniture, interior design,
lighting, and metalware”.

Hardcover. 9.5”x12”, 303 pages, hundreds of color and some black & white
illustrations, dust jacket. Fine condition. $70.00
