of medieval European literature." Magnificently bound by Sangorski and 
Sutcliffe, of London, in half morocco over goldenrod cloth. "Designed, 
produced, and published by Christopher Sandford at the Golden Cockerel 
Press, London, in Caslon's Old Face type on mould-made paper, and 
finished on the Nineteenth day of February, 1948." The edition is 
limited to550 numbered copies, of which this is designated as copy 
number 502. Former owner's bookplate tipped onto inside front board. Two 
very small discolourations on right edge of front free endpaper; and one 
similar spot to top left of rear free endpaper. Top and bottom right 
corners of front board very slightly rubbed. Contents exceptionally 
clean, tight, and bright. A beautiful copy in very good, to near fine, 
condition.
