CHEEVER, John. TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS). Ossining: 22 Oct.  1977.
On  personal  staionery, @70 words. A defense of one of his books.  In
part:  "I had no idea that Francine du Plessix Gray disliked  FALCONER
and  thank  you for telling me. Had I got the word indirectly I  would
have  been  quite distressed.... My intent has always  been  serious."
