From our newly updated catalog of LIMITED EDITIONS CLUB books and
ephemera containing 601 items:

BURTON, Sir Richard [translator]. THE BOOK OF A THOUSAND NIGHTS
AND A NIGHT. A Plain and Literal Translation of the Arabian Nights
Entertainments. New York: Limited Editions Club 1934. Six octavo
volumes (5-3/4" x 9-1/4") bound in half natural cowhide and printed
paper sides designed by Valenti Angelo. The unabridged translation
complete with notes and index by Sir Richard Burton. Illustrated with
1001 drawings by Valenti Angelo. Copy #876 of 1500 copies SIGNED by
the illustrator on the colophon page. The first multi-volume set
issued by the press. The leather on the spine has virtually no wear
or rubbing and retains its suppleness; the corners are straight and
the contents fresh. The slipcases also are very nice, completely
intact with just a little fading. It is extremely difficult to find
this set today in anything approaching this condition as the leather
did not wear well. Fine set in close to Fine slipcases. $2000.00
