22 numbered copies, with 22 tipped-in pieces of California ephemera, 
including a land deed dated 1847, a large folding topographic map of San Francisco 
dated 1853, a copy of the California Mining Journal dated March 1, 1857, a 
proclamation by Mayor Schmitz following the 1906 earthquake, and a of William 
Davis' autograph ms. of this work. Tan cloth, some fraying at extremities, 
paper spine label, over paper covered boards (edges chipped). Signed on the 
limitation leaf by Douglas Watson and John Howell.     $1,500.00 (trade
