calf, four gilt decorated raised bands, two compartments with gilt
titles, three with decorations, boards and turn-ins decorated in
gilt, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers. Sabin 29718. Palau
112072. Griffin 3457. Hill p. 134. Second edition.
"Hall was in command of the H.M.S. Conway, and his Journal is one of
the best descriptions of events on the west coast as seen by a
British naval officer," Griffin p.315. "Obra interesante con curiosa
anecdotas y descripciones fieles de las costas de Oceano Pacifico
entre Chile y Mexico. (An interesting work with interesting anecdotes
and descriptions of the Pacific coast between Mexico and Chile),"
Palau VI, p. 308. The work went through three editions the first
year. Provenance: Elizabeth Barneby, her armorial bookplate. Very
good copies, spines sunned, boards a bit scuffed, minor wear,
armorial bookplates on front pastedowns; map foxed with short closed

be billed. Trade allowance. Postage for Domestic orders is $4.00 for
the first book and $1.50 for each additional volume. Books are
normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is
calculated individually. All books may be returned in original
condition for any reason within two weeks with prior notification.
