edition. Octavo, original black cloth titled in
red on spine and front panel. Top edge stained
yellow. Correct first printing, code D36 to inner
margin of page 239. A nearly fine copy, clean and
bright, in dust jacket with some minor rubbing to
the edges, light fading to the spine panel and a
touch of wear to the utmost tips of the spine.
The jacket is the first issue and is not clipped,
with the original price of $3.95 present on upper
front flap. Overall, a very nice copy, quite
superior to most. ¶ Alternate history science
fiction novel, set partially in Japanese-occupied
San Francisco, 14 years after the United States
surrendered to the Axis Powers of World War II.
Winner of the 1963 Hugo Award for Best Science

spine tips. An attractive copy of a scarce book.

cover. 186 pp. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on the
half-title leaf "Peace - Kurt Vonnegut". Top
edges slightly dusty, a near fine copy in dust
jacket, slight browning to dj spine. The jacket
has the correct printing code "0369" at the base
of the rear flap and the $5.95 price intact on
front flap, this is sometimes thought to denote
the first printing but all early printings seem
to have the same points. A nice copy of a key
title. ¶ Vonnegut's best-known work, the tale of
Billy Pilgrim, survivor of the Dresden
Firebombings and common optometrist, kidnapped by
a flying saucer from the planet Tralfamadore. $650.00

pp. a fine copy, IN THE ORIGINAL GLASSINE DUST
JACKET, slightly torn at the edges and with a
tiny, early label affixed near the upper edge of
the front panel. Laid into this copy is an
original playbill "DADDY-LONG-LEGS By Jean
Webster, THE PLAY, presented by Henry Miller; one
sheet folded into 4 pages, line drawings and with
three photographic illustrations on the final
page. 'A Play that has delighted nearly a Million
playgoers in America, England and Australia,
Harmanus Hall, 2 nights commencing Tues., Oct. 2,
Matinee Wednesday. Undated, but circa 1918-1920.
¶ A stunning copy of the great children's story
of a young girl from an orphanage who is
sponsored through college by a mysterious
benefactor, the 'Daddy-Long-Legs' of the title.
The book was filmed in 1919 starring Mary
Pickford, and many times afterwards. $350.00
