(No. 11220 )  Stowe, Harriet Beecher (1811-1896). AGNES OF SORRENTO.
Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1862. Original cloth, Octavo, v, [6]-412 pages, 1-16 publisher ads. Very Good.
      Stowe's poetic novel set in southern Italy, inspired by her own visit there in 1860. Fourth edition as stated on title page. Bound in dark green cloth over boards with spine titled in gilt, dark brown endpapers. Cloth worn through in a few small areas at extremities, prior owner name label at top fore corner of front pastedown, prior owner inscription on preliminary blank thus: "Kate S. Claxton / with / Papa's love." Front hinges has a couple of short splits though still holding securely. A couple of signatures slightly pulled....... $75.00
