Recoveries... In the Savoy: Printed by E. and R. Nutt and R. Gosling... for J.
Shuckburgh. 1739. First edition. 4to. (4),232,(16)pp. (including 2pp. of publisher's
ads at front). Cont. polished calf, some blind tooling on covers, red calf
spine label. Sir Thomas Clarke's (1703-1764) copy with his signature on the
front free endpaper and laid in loose is a folded sheet of his autograph
notes. Bookplate of the South Library on front pastedown and its small blind
stamp on first three pages. $500.00 (trade discount allowed)
Two later editions appeared in 1753 and 1770.
