engravings by Bartlett. First edition. 3/4 dark green crushed morocco
over marbled paper-covered boards with raised bands and gilt rules,
all edges marbled. Near fine. Twentieth century binding. 2 " diameter
damp stain to top of 2 pages (frontis and title). Another smaller
damp stain to one margin. Extra clean and almost totally free of
foxing. 2 volumes bound together. Two engraved title pages. A

HISTORY. Boston: Francis A Niccolls and Co., 1911. Illustrated by
F.S. Walker on vellum paper. Celtic edition. # 76 of 1000 copies
printed. 6 volumes. Green crushed levant with gilt designs in the
spine compartments, raised bands, light green linen-covered boards.
Spines are evenly sunned to a rich brown, t. e. g. [332, 413,
392,431, 425, 415 pgs] Fine. Volumes are in such good condition as to
appear unopened. Former owner's contemporary bookplate at pastedown

PRESENT, THE. Boston: Murphy and McCarthy, 1884. Illustrated by Two
steel-engraved plates after W. H. Bartlett and many other plates
after Bartlett and others. Pictorial gilt on maroon cloth binding.
Pages evenly browned. Small tear to bottom of spine. 4to. [ix-xxvi,
338; vi, [1], [1]blank], [3]-477, [3] pgs] Very good. 2 volumes in
one, comprising three divisions. Complete. Condition is very good
except the above-mentioned wear and some scattered foxing and weak at

engravings from drawings by D. M'Clise and T. Creswick. Half polished
calf with marbled boards and end papers. Gilt rules and lettering on
black morocco labels . 8vo. [264 pgs] Very good. Scattered foxing to
some plates but none to text pages, rubbing to paper covering boards,
otherwise in fine, sound condition. Interesting descriptions of the
gentry and the peasantry from the point of view of an English
travelling gentleman. Much about castles and scenery too. $250.00

Illustrated by b&w photo illustrations. First edition. Green cloth
with gilt embossed design at front board and gilt lettering at spine;
teg. 8" x 5.25". [399 pgs] Fine. Russell was a Gaelic Revivalist who
spent 30 years in America, promoting the Irish native language which,
of course, had been nearly eradicated by the English invaders.
Previous owner's signature at title page. Minor wear at extremities.
Contents are tight and clean. Scarce book, especially in this
